PBMHS Air Rifle team wins 1st Place at JROTC All Service National Championship

Palm Bay Magnet HS wins the JROTC All Service National Championship! Our cadets shot a team score of 4405. Only three teams have shot over 4400 in the history of the Sporter Air Rifle at the National Championships. Our Air Rifle team members are Emily Coombe, Lacy Pulkkinen, Misha Hamid and Marielos Castaneda. Palm Bay also had 3 out of the 8 athletes in the Top 8 Final - Lacy Pulkkinen placed 4th, Emily Coombe 7th and Misha Hamid 8th.
All four of the team members earned the CMP Gold Distinguished Marksmanship Badge. This is a huge accomplishment for a Junior Air Rifle Team athlete. They must earn a total of 30 points from CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) sanctioned matches. To earn points you must shoot a 535 - 544 out of 600 to receive 3 points, 4 points for 545 - 554, and 5 points for 555 +. The position you place in a National Championship can earn points. 10 of the 30 points must either be from a National Championship or for shooting over 555 in any CMP Sanctioned Match.
